Interpreting consecutive and simultaneous

An interpreter for negotiations, a notary appointment, a factory floor or a conference. Tell us the date, city, language and subject, and we will confirm whether an interpreter is available and give you the price.

  • Consecutive: 96 BYN/hour
  • Simultaneous: 468 BYN/hour
  • Minimum booking 2 hours

Types

Consecutive or simultaneous

The difference is when you hear the interpreting: in pauses after each phrase, or at the same time as the speech.

  • Consecutive interpreting

The speaker pauses and the interpreter translates phrase by phrase. Suitable for negotiations, meetings, transactions at a notary and business visits.

  • Simultaneous interpreting

The interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker. Needed at conferences and events where time matters. Two interpreters work together.

How to choose

Choosing the right type for your meeting

For a conversation around one table, consecutive interpreting is usually enough. The meeting runs a little longer because of the pauses, but you need only one interpreter and participants have time to think about their answers.

Simultaneous interpreting is chosen when there is a large audience and the schedule is tight: a conference, a seminar, a presentation. It needs equipment that lets listeners hear the interpreting. Check in advance whether the venue has it.

If you are not sure, describe the format to us: how many participants, how many speakers and how long the event lasts. We will suggest the right type of interpreting.
